Halloween 2010

Today was quite the day! Saturday, October 30, 2010 started off with a most delicious breakfast! Craig and I woke up together and made breakfast together, something that doesn't happen very often. We made scrambled eggs with cheese, bacon, biscuts and tomato gravy. It was so good! Then we got ready to go to the temple on a Youth Temple Trip. Charlotte and I got to walk the temple grounds while Craig and the youth were performing baptisms. I supplied several names from my family history and almost all of them got completed.

Then it was time for Trick or Treating! In Highlands County, Florida we trick or treated the Saturday evening before Halloween. We also had the missionaries and Brother Gimpsie over for dinner. So I had Craig and the men take Charlotte trick or treating while I finished dinner. The pictures are great:

They took pictures and gave candy!

Delicious candy, Charlotte was so happy!

"Thank you for my candy!"

"Trick or Treat!"

"Give me something good to eat!"

"Look at all my candy!"

Charlotte had so much fun!

She's already ready to go back out there!

We had such a great day, but are so glad it's over and time to relax! Craig is going to be out of town all next week sadly, but Thanksgiving is right around the corner and we just can not wait!

Trunk or Treat 2010

Charlotte is Pebbles for Halloween!

Wednesday, October 27, 2010 our church hosted Trunk or Treat. It was my first time to attend, so I didn't quite know what to expect. I decorated my trunk with just a couple pumpkins with little portable strobe lights, which the kids were all more interested in than my bucket of candy. Inside the church, there were lots of different activities. The kids could all go through a "haunted house" of body parts, they could play toss the foot ball, or a game they called "Face the Oreo" where you had to put an oreo on your forehead and wink its way into your mouth. Only Elder Burton ever mastered this from what I saw, it was pretty funny. Charlotte was a little difficult to photograph, and I unfortunately left my memory card so my camera was only able to hold 8 photo's!

Daddy gives it a try - he failed!

Charlotte has learned how to wipe her face with her shirt!

She's tired, but she's not ready to go home yet!

Is that not just the cutest baby ever?

We all had a really great time and will definitely go again next year! We're missing all of our family and friends back home and can't wait for Thanksgiving!

Happy Birthday Charlotte!

Charlotte Frances Shelton turned 1 year old September 28, 2010! We celebrated her birthday the following Saturday and we had such a blast! My friend let us use her house for the party which was so helpful. Charlotte had such a great time and ALL her friends came!

She started the day playing with her friends in the game room. Everybody got along so well and had a lot of fun!

(Charlotte poses for the camera)

We also played a few games of Duck-Duck-Goose. Most of the children were old enough to know what to do, but it got really fun with the ones who weren't quite sure. One little girl circled us three times saying "Duck-Duck-Duck-Duck, etc" which was pretty funny, she never did pick a goose!

After we played Duck-Duck-Goose we sang happy birthday and cut the cake and opened presents. Charlotte got a lot of great gifts and she is so lucky to have all the love and all the friends she has.

(Charlotte got some GREAT books)

(Charlotte loves her new sippy cup!)

(Another excellent book!)

(Tinker Bell Sunglasses, she's so cool!)

Charlotte's birthday party was such a success! She had so much fun and we're so thankful for everybody who came to make it possible. The past year has been truly amazing and I'm so proud of my little girl and my little family!
